GLOW philosophy

So, GO4GLOW has been 10 years in the making! After almost a decade of countless questions, requests, and frantic emergency calls from friends, I thought maybe it was high time to start chronicling what I know about makeup, skincare, haircare, and all things beauty-related.

My beauty philosophy:
I’m very much into Asian Beauty (AB), particularly KBeauty, so do expect a lot of Korean product reviews and recommendations! That being said, I don’t have a fixed skincare routine, I have close to zero brand affinity, and I definitely do not believe that AB is the be all and end all of skincare. What I like about it (and my own skincare routine) is that it is highly customisable and very much based on your own skin needs, which can change through different stages in your life, but also from day to day.

Don’t forget either that skincare is by nature subjective — What might work for me might not work for you! For instance, I’ve experienced long periods of denial where I was so determined to love a product, that I would insist on using it for ages just because there were 5,000 positive reviews of it online. And I’d be ignoring the clusters of cystic pimples breaking out on my forehead (always a bad sign) and telling myself “no, fermented flowers are supposed to be good!”

In other words, I UNDERSTAND YOUR STRUGGLE. Skincare is confusing.

So, this blog is for *you* guys out there — if you’ve ever shed sorry tears over a massive breakout, gotten a huge shock upon seeing yourself in the mirror after a long day at work, stood around in Sephora feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of products, this blog is dedicated to you.

With my posts, I will give the most informative and objective views I can, based on my own experiences. I won’t rave on about “amazing” products without telling you why they’re amazing, and I won’t push a fad without testing it out first (donkey milk, anyone?).

So stick around, and let’s get glowin’ together!
